Epson Home Cinema 2030 Projector Advanced Calibration

Posted on October 25, 2013 by Art Feierman
Mike completed the CMS calibration of the individual colors, which are provided below. And, of course, some additional comments from him.

Color Management

Color Management (default is 0 for all)
Hue Saturation Brightness
Red 0 6 4
Green 48 9 -8
Blue -9 -38 23
Cyan 1 -1 0
Magenta 10 1 18
Yellow 0 0 -4

CMS Calibration

The 2030 has a full CMS and by using it, all of the primaries and secondaries could be improved.  By default, blue was oversaturated and magenta was too blue.  Using the CMS, blue and magenta were improved and overall, skin tones came out really well.  Luminance errors for primaries and hue errors for secondaries were almost non-existent.  Even without the CMS, turning color down a bit will take out some of the excess red in skin tones, which don’t look bad in any mode by default.
