Epson MovieMate 85HD Projector - Warranty

The Epson MovieMate 85HD projector comes with a two years, parts and labor warranty. Unlike Epson's stand-alone projectors, the MovieMate 85HD does not come with a replacement program. While it would be great to have such a program, they are rare even among far more expensive projectors.

Epson, in offering replacement programs on almost all projectors (except their all-in-one projectors) is actually the exception. Mitsubishi for example has a loaner program for business projectors but not for home models. Sanyo offers no loaner or replacement programs...and so it goes.

Click to enlarge. So close. Wait, the MovieMate 85HD may not come with a replacement program, but you can add one. Epson offers a 2 year replacement addition for only $89.95, or if you only want 6 months worth, $45.95. (Two years obviously is a better deal!)

That you get two years of warranty with the MovieMate 85HD is most impressive (even without the replacement). Boom boxes and other all-in-one products usually come with 90 days warranty, one year, if you are lucky.

Considering Epson offers two years, plus 90 days warranty on the lamp, you've got to consider it a great warranty compared to that offered by what little competition exists out there.

It should be noted that Epson also offers extended tech support hours for the duration of their 2 year warranty.
