Epson Powerlite 1775W Projector: Bottom Line

We were duly impressed with the Epson 1775W. It improves upon the previous model (1735W) in picture quality and connectivity while maintaining all the features that made the 1735W popular.

Also, it does all this in a slimmer package and at a substantially lower price. It does everything a good multimedia projector should, has very good brightness for its size, excellent portability and easy-to-use wireless networking included. While it has no LAN port for wired networking, its wireless performance is so good that a wired connection is not needed.

The 1775W’s ability to provide accurate color in even the brightest mode will please the presenter working in a room with minimal light control. The quick setup features, including power focus, are a boon to the presenter who is constantly setting up in new locations.

As its light weight and compact size make it desirable for those who travel a lot, Epson has thoughtfully included a travel bag that holds the projector and all of its cables and accessories. While it’s unlikely to be purchased for permanent installation, the 1775W has mounting screw holes for permanent mounting in a small boardroom or classroom. Easy access to controls, lamp and air filter are maintained even when ceiling mounted.

At an MSRP of $1199, the 1775W offers a lot of value to the traveling presenter. When you also factor in its Road Service replacement plan, you’ve got a combination that’s hard to beat.
