Epson Z8450WUNL Projector - Warranty

The Z8450WUNL has Epson’s usual three year parts and service warranty on the projector and a 90-day warranty on the lamp.  While that alone is a very good warranty, Epson makes it much better with their Extra Care Road Service for all three years.  The way it works is if the projector fails and you can’t wait for it to be repaired, regardless of where you are in the U.S. or Canada, a phone call to Epson will send a replacement projector on its way to you.  When the replacement unit arrives, you simply use the prepaid airway bill and packaging provided to send the defective projector back to Epson.

While we don't get much feedback on the replacement program with business projectors, we do hear frequently from those using the program on the home theater projector side of things.  There we have learned that calls are almost always answered by a tech in 2 minutes or less, and that replacement projectors are sent out to almost everyone, without hassle.  About the only two complaints I've heard in the last couple of years from Epson's program are:  a) on occasion, a replacement projector shows a problem upon arrival (a different problem).  Of course, to understand that, Epson maintains their fleet of projectors with some new ones to start, then by refurbishing the units that come in with warranty issues. b) if you call late enough in the day, it can take Epson an extra day to get the replacement projector shipped.

In addition, each Z8450 comes with a PrivateLine technical support card with a special phone number and PIN for fast access to a support technician, there's no messing around with switchboards, or Epson printer techs, right to a projector support person.  Good stuff.
