JVC DLA-RS400U Calibration - Color Management Settings for the JVC DLA-RS400U.

About this Calibration Information

Mike completed the CMS calibration of the individual primary, and secondary colors, which are provided below. And, of course, some additional comments from him about that aspect of the calibration.

We did not do a separate calibration for 4K UHD content.

JVC DLA-RS400U Color Management Settings

Color Management Settings for Custom 1 Color Profile (Default is 0, Axis Position is 0 for all)
Red Green Blue Cyan Magenta Yellow
Hue 0 0 -8 0 0 0
Saturation -2 -14 1 0 -1 0
Brightness 0 -1 -3 -1 0 0

Mike's CMS Notes

While the Standard color space is pretty good, simply changing to Custom 1 (without any CMS adjustment) brings everything in really close to the Rec. 709 color space.  As a result of the good color space accuracy in Custom 1, using the CMS results in fine tuning that is not easily discernable to the eye.  The Saturation controls were of little value for increasing the saturation, but since the chromaticity error never exceeded 3%, it’s not much of an issue.  Overall, like previous JVC models, the color balance is so good that only minor tweaking with the CMS is necessary.
