Optoma TW610Sti Projector Overview

Optoma is offering a feature rich solution called the TW610Sti+. The "i" is for interactive. The Optoma TW610Sti+ produces a very bright 3200 lumens, and has a native screen resolution of WXGA(1280x800). The light technology used is the single 0.65" DC3 DMD DLP chip. This projector also features a very respectable 3000:1 contrast ratio. It is considered a short throw projector, so fairly large images can be produced by just placing the projector a few feet from the screen. There was a Optoma TW610Sti offered last year that is virtually identical to the TW610Sti+, but the new + version is 100 lumens brighter and has an upgraded interactive pen. Most of this review, except for the performance section, is take from the review of the TW610Sti.

The size and weight of the projector comes in at 6.9 pounds, and has a fairly small footprint of just about 12 x 9.6 inches. It is well designed, so setup should be a breeze. I discuss more about the setup in our physical tour section of the review.

The 16:10 aspect ratio will make wide screen presentations match up with what most are used to seeing from a laptop, although 16:9 is more aligned with what a laptop displays. The projector is, however, 4:3 and 16:9 compatible.

The Optoma TW610Sti+ menu system comes in 25 different languages, so it should be compatible with just about any user. Before we move on to the highlights and on to the rest of this review, I should note that the TW610Sti+ is packed full of inputs and outputs, for a wide range of content sources.
