The 2013 Best In Class Winners!

1080p Home Theater Projectors, Our Award Winners:

Class: Medium Priced 1080p Home Theater Projectors: $2000 - $3500

As you read about each award winner and runner-up on the following pages (linked to below), the images will be from the projector you are reading about.

Most home theater and home entertainment projectors today are 3D capable, and that tends to complicate things.  A projector can be great for 2D, but mediocre for 3D.  A few don't have 3D abilities.  Based on the emails and blog comments I get, most of our readers seem to be at least interested in 3D capability, many are very enthusiastic about 3D. On the other hand, I get a fair amount of: "I don't care about 3D".  And don't forget the goup: "Personally, I don't really care for 3D for me, but I have to get it for the kids"

For these reasons, we started last year, giving out a couple of awards for 2D only projectors.

In this price range, the Mitsubishi HC8000D would each be a good example of projectors we might highly recommend for 2D usage. It just simply isn't bright enough in 3D for most installations.
