How do you know if it needs the firmware? And where are the instructions for it? I have looked in the manual and found nothing.

Thanks!

Hi Art,

I found your original review and subsequent follow up very helpful to assist me in calibrating my PRO8100 at home. The firmware you mention above (2.41) also makes the original set-up for lens shift and focus far easier with new graphics to assist with this, far superior to the orginal firmware. But I digress. I happened upon the Viewsonic site today and noticed there is yet another firmware available (now 2.51) for download. My projector is getting serviced at the moment so I'm not sure what it does as I can't apply it. I will let you know once I've had a chance though.

Hopefully, it will address the fact that you cannot save basic custom settings (ie, brightness, contrast etc) unless you select a custom colour temperature. This for learner drivers like me is damn near impossible and a little daft fron Viewsonic.

Otherwise, I really enjoy the projector.

Kind regards
