Well, since you are rainbow sensitive (as I am), LCD does simplify things. However, way back when, LCD projectors were lucky to claim 500:1 or 600:1 contrast, and most were more like 300:1 or 400:1.

today's LCD projectors have far higher native contrast, and that combined with today's dynamic irises, make a HUGE difference - especially if you can get your self to an "ultra high contrast" one like the Panny, Epson UBs Mits 7000 or Sanyo Z3000. -art

Your screen is nice and small, so even the less powerful should have no problem. -art

Just curious My first projector a sharpvision LCD 35U now ancient but still powers up no less on the orgininal lamp!.
I graduated up in resolution to a Infocus SP4805 DLP and now I wish to replace that due to it's premature failure.
Other than the obvious resolution change, will I be disapointed visualy going from DLP back to LCD?
I had to ND filter the 4805 to minimize the RB effect it was simply too bright in econo mode for my throw distance of 10' I want to continue using my 72" HCMW screen for the time being
