Matthieu, very true. Another player is generally a good thing. I'm pretty much done working with the Cinetron, and am starting to write it up, tonight. It will publish this weekend (you know the drill), probably late Sunday night, which more often than not, ends up being Monday night. The Grammy Awards are big things here, every year, we have a small party. I'm huge on music, was so, long before there was "home theater", and my daughter performs musical theater, etc. But, we'll get it done as quick as can be.

It's been a roller coaster of a review. I've had mixed, and changing feelings since it began. At first glance, I wasn't sure it was competitive enough to be worth reviewing. Then, I noticed it puts out an extremely bright "best" mode, which always gets my attention, and immediately changed my mind about whether to review it or not.

The rest, will be in the review. hang in there! -a

Ahh Scott, same old, same old.

On 1/7 they emailed they had one for me, but it never materialized. Now they are sending me their 720p W600 "3D capable" projector instead. I've also asked their online dealer if they can spare one. Other than that, not much I can do. I don't have the budget to go out and buy projectors just so I can review them, so they come, usually from the manufacturer, and once or twice a year, I'll borrow one from a dealer.

Hi Art, I am looking for a 1080p projector to replace my outstanding Infocus In76. My budget is @ $3000 and the current LCD projectors in this price range don't appeal to me. Love the look of DLP but willing to try LCOS/SXRD (LG CF 181D, Cinetron HD700). The new Infocus SP8602 seems promising (just might have to scrape up more pennies the next six months!). Have light controlled theater and possibly @120" HC gray sreen size. Can't wait to see these projectors go to war! The choice of my next projector will be based on the review of these anticipated machines. Any news or blogs is greatly helpful! Thanks.

Hi Dean,

LED seems to be coming slowly. We reviewed a Vivitek LED light source, home theater projector a few months ago. So far, though, they have been expensive (over $10K), with the LED light source, so far, being too expensive to be rationalized. However, we haven't seen the first batch of "competitive LED pjs yet" Most likely this coming fall we'll see some reasonably priced ones. (we can only hope!) -art

Hello Art,

Any news on the LG CF181D? It looks like one helluva bright LCOS light canon. At least according to that other site. I'm kinda waiting on your review to upgrade.

I've been wanting to upgrade my Sharp XV-Z3000 for months now but can't make up my mind on anything. I'd probably would have gone with the Panny AE-4000 but the Canadian price is outrageous. An alarming number of people (I know, but more than usual) on avsforum seem to have problems with the Epson 8500ub, and its response time is pretty slow which might not be ideal for gaming. The W6000 is interesting but looks as noisy as my freakin loud Z3000. Arggggghhh. Help!
