Hi, to clarify. Some projectors have User settings. Essentially a User setting may be just another setting. Often though some projectors don't allow you to change anything or only some things. For example in reviewing the InFocus SP8602, you can go into Video mode, and adjust brightness, but not color saturation. Use their User mode, and it can be based on Video, but full controls.
Back to the main point, though. Here are two scenarios:
1. User mode, you make your changes, you use a save function (provided) to lock in those settings. Next day, you call up user mode. Then, however, let's say you change the brightness from 50 to 52. Following day, you power up again. You select User mode, and you are back to 50 on brightness. It remembered the settings you LOCKED IN.
2. User mode, you make your changes. There's no save option. Next day, you change brightness from 50 to 52. Following day, you power up, select user mode, and it simply brings up your last setting, which would be 52.

With scenario 2, If you didn't remember or jot down 50, you wouldn't know that was your first setting, the one you want as your "default". Darn, have to recalibrate because you didn't remember...
Ok, hope that helps

Hi Art,

Couple of questions about the JVC RS15 review:

You say re saving settings:

"...If you make changes, the next time you go to that mode, those changes will still be there. But, if you make more changes, the older ones are lost."

I don't see why you say this makes the settings not savable, which to me would mean the settings are gone when you come back.

Greetings, Rosario

Based on a conversation, I had the other day, I don't think that's true, but I will look into it further.
