Greetings Fabio

The W7000 should easily do better than your marantz in terms of black levels. The 4001 is a 5 year old DLP projector with a dynamic iris. (I never reviewed any version). However back then, none of the DLPs with irises were any match for today's ultra-high contrast projectors. The Marantz spec, of 6500:1 is likely conservative, but still, I would think you'll not only get a dramatic improvement in black levels, but you are also going from a 720p projector to a 1080p one.
Good luck, you should love the change, and more brightness as well - art

I own a Marantz vp-4001 (aka sharp z3000 I think), and I can't find a single person that is able to tell me if a projector like this W7000 would have better contrast and black levels than mine. Ratings as we know don't mean much...
Art, you are my last hope :)

Hi CarmineM

A short review (I'm watching the 6010 right now), will likely be posted tonight - tomorrow latest. I've finished it, and sent it to Lisa, to do some reformatting. -art

Hi Art,

I am seriously considering the Epson 6010, but I can't find any recent reviews based on a postproduction model.

Have you had a chance to review the postproduction model yet, and if not, do you know of any rigorous reviews that have been done.

I am not looking for a cut and paste type from the Epson web page.

Lastly is the advertized 480 refresh rate a true physical 480 hz refresh rate or is the refresh rate emulated, like 240 hz performing like 960 as some LED TV’s are now advertizing? I am seeing reference to both actual refresh rate and artificially enhanced in various sources and am confused.

Thanks, Carmine

Hi Steve, yes they are. The W7000 should be arriving today. I was prepared to drive the 20+ miles to get it, but they emailed this morning, that it shipped yesterday, so should arrive here in a couple of hours!
