Hi!
I found the Sony HW50ES and the Panasonic - which I saw before CEDIA to be particularly exceptional. I really didn't take a close look at the Epson's from a critical 3D standpoint. The HW50ES which Sony demonstrated switching back and forth between an Epson 5010, and later, vs a JVC RS65 I believe, looked great. I had some issues with the presentation, such as vs. the Epson comparing right out of the box default modes of the two projectors. That was a bit bogus, in that, for brightness comparison, Epson starts in a Cinema mode with lamp on low, while the Sony started in Cinema 1 with lamp on high... Also the Epson's "best" out of the box mode on the 5010 is the REC709, while the Sony's best, is their default. All that said, the Sony was impressive. I'm about to do the first look blog, in a minute! -art PS. nothing about a H9500BD replacement. They had no presence at the show. Also Taiwanese and Chinese brands are less likely to roll out at CEDIA, as Optoma and BenQ for example often release new projectors in the spring. -art

Hi Art,

Liked reading some of your early impressions. Is there anything in the 3D arena that "reallY" jumps out at you? I know it's a little early to make hard and fast recommendations, but have you had any "Wow" moments?

Also, some of us who really like the picture (and price) of the Acer H9500BD are wondering if Acer has a successor rolling out.

Sounds like a blast in Indy.
