Epson EX5230 Portable Projector Review
The EX5230 is a fairly basic model providing the essential features for the business user, but lacking some of the “special features” found on some other Epson models.
Slide Shows without a computer
A flash drive can be plugged into the projector’s USB connector to display photos, slideshows and videos (avi format only) without having an attached computer. The projector’s remote includes the buttons needed to navigate through the photo slide show or video. This can be useful by providing a quick setup for hassle-free presentations.
Optional Network Support
Wireless networking support can be added to the EX5230 with the optional Epson Wi-Fi adapter. This allows wireless connection to laptops and mobile devices which could be useful for making business presentations.
The EX5230 offer a 1.2X manual zoom lens with both vertical and horizontal keystone correction. The vertical keystone correction is automatic (by default) and corrects the image geometry when the projector is tilted upward. When being used as a portable projector the EX5230 can be placed on a table top and setup quickly in a typical conference room environment.
