Epson Home Cinema 6100 - Warranty

The Epson Home Cinema 6100 projector comes with a two year parts and labor warranty. For both years, you also get their overnight replacement program. As an added benefit, Epson is well known for both good technical support, and reliable products.

Most of the 1080p competition also come with a two year parts and labor warranty, There are, however some projectors with three year warranties, and even more with just a single year. Those with one year include the best selling Panasonic PT-AE3000 (although they are currently giving away a 2nd year warranty as a mail-in rebate). Several Optoma projectors and the lower cost 1080p BenQ projector - the W5000 are other examples of one year warranties.

Two year warranties are provided on the Epson Home Cinema 6500UB projector, several Optoma projectors, Mitsubishi home theater projectors, and those from Planar. There are also many extremely expensive projectors ($10,000 to $100,000+) with two year warranties.

Epson it should be noted, provides three years on their Pro Cinema series projectors. When it comes to other projectors with three year warranties, Optoma has some higher end 1080p projectors, the HD81 and HD81-LV, and BenQ has three on their higher end W20000. Sanyo provides three years, and a fast turnaround promise.

Some of the projectors mentioned have overnight replacement programs. Epson provides the replacement service for their full warranty length - two and three years respectively for the Home and Pro Cinema lines. BenQ offers a first year replacement on the W20000.

Bottom line: The Epson Home Cinema 6100 warranty is definitely better than average. While it is average in duration, the overnight replacement program is a great program. If you should have a problem covered under warranty, basically Epson ships another projector right out to you, you ship yours back in the box then send, and Epson pays all the freight.

As an added benefit, Epson is well known for both good technical support, and reliable products.
