Epson Powerlite 1775W Projector Overview
The Epson Powerlite 1775W is a lightweight (3.8 lbs.), micro-portable widescreen WXGA (1280 X 800) LCD projector with a host of features at a price that makes it a great value and is easily adaptable to the boardroom, conference room or classroom. The 1775W can be connected to a PC (or Mac) via the traditional VGA cable (or DVI to VGA for Mac users), HDMI, USB or wireless 802.11 a/b/g. It has specified output of 3000 lumens and a 1.2X zoom lens, as well as digital zooming.
For easy setup, the Epson Powerlite 1775W provides an adjustable front foot and auto keystoning feature called “Screen Fit”. “Screen Fit” uses a sensor mounted on the front of the projector to square the image to the screen.
The 1775W shares many if its features and performance with the previously reviewed Powerlite 1735W, but adds an HDMI input and comes in at a lower price as well. Also in Epson's 17xx series projectors, are the Powerlite 1770W, essentially the same as the 1775W, but the wireless networking and quick connect features are optional and is also lacking the Screen Fit feature. The Powerlite 1760W is the same as the 1770W, but is rated at 2600 lumens instead of 3000 and the 1750, an budget-priced XGA version of the 1760W that also does not offer an HDMI input or wireless networking, even as an option.
As was the case with its predecessors, the 1775W’s light weight and size makes it extremely portable (11.5" wide, 8.3" front to back, and 2.1" high - and that includes its feet). With dimensions similar to a netbook, the 1775W is a great choice for the "road warrior" that needs to travel with their own projector. It could easily fit under an airplane seat along with your laptop. It comes with its own carry bag, but you could easily use a laptop bag as well.
