Epson Home Cinema 720 Projector Warranty

Summary, Pros, Cons

This is about as good as it gets. The Epson Home Cinema 720 comes with 2 years parts and labor, but what really makes the warranty special, is the overnight replacement program, that comes with it, for the full two years.

What that means, is that if your projector dies or has a problem (other than needing a replacement lamp), Epson will, upon notification, overnight you a replacement. You then send your in-warranty, but problematic projector back to Epson in the same box the replacement came in.

Epson will pay all the freight costs. Bottom line. If you call early enough - I think their cut-off is around 3pm Pacific time, but don't quote me on that - you should have a replacement, the next day.

You won't ever see your original projector again, but who cares - it broke on you!

Combine that with Epson's excellent customer support, and the Epson Home Cinema 720 pretty much wins, hands down, the peace of mind category for 720p home theater projectors.

In the 720p projector space, most companies have either a 1 or two year warranty, but few offer an overnight program. BenQ offers a 48 hour program, but only for one year, and only on certain models. InFocus and Panasonic provide 1 year, no replacement or loaner, Mitsubishi one or two years, depending on the model, no replacement, and Optoma provides 2 years, no replacement.

Sanyo, though, offers 3 years parts and labor, and promises, if your projector needs service, to turn it around in no more than 3 days at their facility. That's prety fast, but not as fast as a replacement, but you get that 3rd year coverage.
