Review – BenQ W1070

Hello All!

Luckily, I was able to get my hands on the new BenQ w1070 (I don’t think it is even selling yet in the states).  For those not familiar, it is an entry level DLP, 1080p projector with 3D capabilities!  This projector will retail for ~$1100 and a number of folks were hoping a review of this projector before the holidays, so I’m glad I was able to follow through.  :)  Hopefully, I can help a few prospective projector owners make an informed decision.  Read on!

Review – ViewSonic Pro9000 Laser Hybrid LED

Hello All!

Art shipped me the ViewSonic Pro 9000 projector along side the BenQ w1070 so I was able to have both in house at the same time, which is always nice. :)   The ViewSonic Pro9000 is a “Laser Hybrid LED” projector that seemed to peak the interest of some of you folks so I’m glad I was able to take a look.   I was going to do a “shootout” between the BenQ W1070 and this projector but the Pro9000 retails for ~$2899, putting it in the mid level price range, so I decided to do separate reviews. Read on to find out how the ViewSonic Pro9000 holds up in the game room!

Review – BenQ W7000 Projector

Hi all!

I was able to sit down last week and test BenQ’s flagship projector, the W7000.  At ~$2500, it is a direct competitor to the Epson 5010.  I’m glad I was able to look at these two projectors soon enough after one another to make a proper comparison.  The W7000 projector throws a super bright and extremely sharp image and also includes features like 3D and frame interpolation.  Input lag has been a topic of concern with many of the newer projector models, read on to find out how this projector measures up in the game room!

Review – Epson 5010e Projector

Hey all!

It’s been a little while since I’ve had my hands on any new projectors, and I was really hoping Art would allow me to get my hands on this one.   Up until receiving the Epson 5010e, I had primarily looked at projectors in the  $700 -$1400 range.   The Epson 5010 retails for ~$2999 and I can tell you – it certainly performs like a projector in that price range.   I took a look at the Epson 5010′s younger brother (Epson 3010), and I really liked the image quality, but it suffered from a bit too much input lag to recommend for any serious gaming.   I can say that the Epson 5010e is superior to the 3010 in nearly every fashion.    Read on to find out more on how the Epson 5010e holds up in the game room.

Game Review – Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have been waiting for this release since I first read about it a very long time ago.  Oblivion was one of my favorite games for XBOX360 and remains among the top games in my favorites list.  No other game at the time had such freedom of game-play or massively beautiful landscapes as Oblivion.   Finally, five years later, Skyrim takes the open world RPG genre to the next level and proudly presents itself as a worthy addition to the Elder Scrolls series.   Read on for my detailed look at this marvelous game.

Review – Epson 3010 Projector

Hello All!

Over the past several years, Epson has established a pattern of producing some of the most competitive projectors in class, so its no surprise many were anxious for me to share my thoughts on the new Epson 3010.    At $1599 ($1799 for the 3010e), the Epson 3010 fits into the just-above entry-level market and boasts some impressive features (including 3D capabilities) for its price point.   Read on to find out how the 3010 holds up in the game room!

Game Review: Portal 2

Hello All!

I had a bit of a break between reviews so I decided it was a good time to do a game review!   I know Portal 2 isn’t brand new, but it’s fairly new and a game whose predecessor is one of my favorites.  I played through both the single player campaign and some of the coop online story over the past few weeks.   Read on to find out what I thought!
