JVC DLA-RS15 Projector - Warranty
The JVC DLA-RS15 provides a two year parts and labor warranty.
That’s the most common warranty among 1080p home theater projectors. A few others out there offer three years, and a few only one year.
As an owner of my second JVC projector, they do seem to have very good build quality, and the previous JVC models have had a very good reputation for reliability. In the 30 plus months I’ve owned JVC’s I can’t even recall any other JVC owner emailing or responding to my blogs, and indicating that they have had a failure. That MUST be a good thing! My own original RS1 and current RS20 have performed very reliably as well. Between the two projectors I’ve had them for over 2 and a half years, and approaching to 3000 hours of total lamp time, and no warranty issues at all.
My own experience, I should note, with JVC support has been a good one. Truth is, I’ve owned JVC’s for about 2 years now, I’ve only called a couple of times and not with any problems. Just looking to understand some things better. They were helpful, although for my trickier questions I had to go back to the product manager (a support person doesn’t need to know much about the algorthms used for CFI, as an example.) When I needed to know what their HDMI 1.3 implementation supported, they had the answers handy (ie. CEC, Deep Color…)
All considered, JVC is providing a very fair warranty. As an over $5000 projector based on MSRP, it certainly wouldn’t hurt if this JVC had one more year, or if there was a replacement program, but, it is a good, typical warranty.
