The HD1000U comes with a one year parts and labor warranty. While there are projectors out there with one, two, and three year warranties, I consider one, to be short. I realize that many of the lower cost projectors only have one year, others have longer.

I might suggest you ask your dealer about an extended warranty. Mitsubishi doesn't offer them, but many of the dealers carry 3rd party warranties from major companies.
