The XD510U DLP projector is a new member to the XD500U family. Overall, almost identical to the XD500U, it is definitely brighter, featuring 2600 lumens at full power. The XD510U is primarily used as a brighter than average, yet very affordable mid-sized portable projector, although many companies and schools will find it to be an excellent low cost projector for permanent installation. Of particular appeal, is the 4000 hour lamp rating for low power operation. A top loading lamp feature means that XD510U projectors that are ceiling mounted, do not require unmounting the projector to change the lamp! Many will consider that, and spend slightly more for the XD510U over the XD500U or other entry level projectors. They will run it in eco mode, where it is still as bright as the XD500U at full power, but the lamp will last twice as long, providing for a long term lower cost of ownership. The best in class three year warranty with overnight replacement makes that idea even more appealing.
