Optoma HD25-LV Projector - Warranty

Posted on July 10, 2013 by Art Feierman

The Optoma HD25-LV projector comes with a one year warranty on parts and labor.

The lamp comes with a 90 day or 500 hours (whichever comes first) warranty, which is the most typical, but also the shortest lamp warranty manufacturers offer.

I'm not generally a fan of 3rd party extended warranties, yet, due to the high cost of out of warranty repair in many cases, I do recommend at least considering a low cost 3rd party extended warranty. Go for at least one extra year (two is your option), when confronted with projectors with one year warranties, such as this HD25-LV home entertainment projector.

Consider some of the competition that are plus or minus a couple hundred dollars, the warranties look like this:  Acer H6500 1 year, BenQ W1070 1 year, Epson Home Cinema 8350 (2 years with replacement program both years) Mitsubishi HC4000 comes with 2 years, Panasonic's PT-AR100U (one year), Viewsonic's Pro8200, which is also under $1000, comes with a three year warranty.

So, while the HD25-LV's one year warranty may be typical, for the price, some do have better warranties. Consider the HD25-LV's warranty to be a basic one.  As they say, in this case, the warranty is "nothing to write home about."  One year? Yawn!
