Optoma HD71 Projector Warranty

Posted on October 16, 2013 by Art Feierman

One year parts and labor, is what you get with the Optoma HD71. While 1 year warranties are not uncommon, on the 720p projectors, just be aware than many competitors do offer more. Most notably Epson's Home Cinema 720 not only comes with a 2 year warranty, but provides free (they pay all shipping) replacement if it fails under warranty. Panasonic's popular PT-AX200U however, also only has a 1 year parts and labor warranty.

Bottom line, unless you plan to keep your projector for only a year, I recommend an extended warranty so you have at least two years total. My logic is, if it breaks during the 3rd year, you can probably replace it with something better, for less than the cost of the repair. but if a projector fails you in month 13, and you have no warranty, you are definitely not going to be happy! -
