Panasonic Projector Warranty

Posted on October 17, 2013 by Art Feierman

One year parts and labor - basically a mediocre warranty. Panasonic direct authorized dealers, however can sell you an additional 2 year Panasonic warranty. Expect that to cost about $299 for the extra two years. I strongly would recommend it, as any major failure with a projector of this class will probably run you $700 to $2000! To the best of my understanding, the extended warranty comes through Panasonic's parts department, so dealers who are not direct with Panasonic, don't have access. I suggest you look for confirmation that the dealer you are working with is a "Direct, Authorized Dealer" that is, they buy the product directly from Panasonic and not thru distribution. I don't know how many direct dealers Panasonic has for projectors, but I would venture a guess that there are no more than 25-50, which is typical in this industry. Many of those may not even actively sell the home theater products. And most of them don't have a significant web presence, so would be hard to find. Most dealers selling Panasonic projectors are PC type dealers and buy through distribution.
