A detailed review of this Epson Powerlite W6 projector.

Additional commentary to Mike's review, provided by Art, who reviewed the almost identical Home Cinema 700 from Epson. This review gives you the perspective on the projector for business and education use, however, this projector can double as a home entertainment projector, and for more on that see the Home Cinema 700 review.

Epson Powerlite W6 Projector Overview

The Epson Powerlite W6 is a portable widescreen WXGA (1280 X 800) LCD projector that is well suited for the classroom or conference room. The W6 has a number of input options, which include the usual VGA input, plus S-video, composite video, USB and, thankfully, HDMI. In addition to USB display from a computer, it can also display photo slideshows and presentations directly from a USB thumb drive or SD card. In addition, the built-in 7-watt speaker provides an acceptable sound level for most classrooms, making the W6 an all-in-one solution for many presentations. It has specified output of 2000 lumens, a 1.2 zoom lens and digital zooming, as well as automatic keystone correction for quick setup.

The W6 is a virtual duplicate of Epson’s Powerlite Home Cinema 700 projector, making it adaptable to movie and TV viewing, as well as presentations.

The W6’s lightweight and size enhances portability. It also comes with a travel bag that holds the projector, remote and any accessory cables for easy transport.
