Sharp PG-D3510X 3-chip DLP Projector Overview
The Sharp PG-D3510X projector is a portable XGA (1024 X 768) DLP data projector that is equally comfortable in classrooms and conference rooms. While many projectors in the PG-D3510X’s class offer brightness rating in the 2000-3000 lumen range, few actually achieve those ratings. As you will see in the “Performance” section of this review, the PG-D3510X had no problem achieving its 3500 lumen rating, making it one of the brightest projectors in its class.
The projector features a “Quick Start” setup guide and menu, as well as the usual assortment of inputs (although no digital inputs – i.e. HDMI or DVI). Although there is currently no 3-D source material available, the Sharp PG-D3510X is 3-D ready with DLP Link technology. Unlike much of the competition, Sharp also offers full color management capability in the PG-D3510X. This allows the user to adjust both primary (RGB) and secondary (CMY) colors as desired. This can help to maximize the effect of presentations that include photos.
The PG-D3510X’s light weight (6.2 lbs.) and compact size makes it very portable. It also comes with a travel bag that holds the projector, remote and any accessory cables for easy transport. Featuring high brightness, network control and monitoring capability and low standby power consumption, the Sharp PG-D3510X projector offers a desirable combination of price, features and performance. It should be a seriously considered by those who are looking for brightness and portability at a reasonable price.
