The Optoma UHD35 and UHD38 pack a punch with incredible color, brightness, and processing performance

Optoma has taken the wraps off two of their new 4K UHD home entertainment and gaming projectors. I introduce to you the UHD35 and UHD38 ultra-speedy, low latency 4K UHD projectors. According to the large-screen experts at PMA Research, Optoma’s popular UHD30 model was the top-selling 4K UHD and 4K Support Home Entertainment Projector in January 2021. The UHD35 and UHD38 were developed as an advancement of the UHD30 model.
The UHD35 model is listed at 3,600 lumens of brightness and the UHD38 is listed at 4,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. The UHD35 and UHD38 should fit nicely into Optoma’s top-rated 4K UHD home entertainment projector line-up, right above their UHD30 projector, which has 3,400 lumens of brightness.
The UHD35 and UHD38 projectors are aimed squarely at the gaming crowd; however, eagle-eyed gamers and home cinema connoisseurs alike should appreciate the input responses of the UHD35 and UHD38 models with their capability to attain an input lag of 4.2ms which gets established on a resolution of 1080p @ a 240hz refresh rate. The projectors can also support 4K UHD @ 60Hz: 16.7ms, 1080P @ 60Hz: 16.7ms, and 1080P @ 120Hz: 8.9ms. However, the 4.2ms should provide the visual fluidity surpassing high-performance gaming monitors and TVs that the gaming crowd is after.

Optoma stated their new UHD35 and UHD38 DLP projectors provide CTA (Consumer Technology Association) certified True 4K UHD resolution, capable of projecting 8.3 million on-screen pixels. That is four times more detail than 1080p and doubles an LCD 4K Pro UHD with 4.1 million pixels.
The new projectors are loaded with technology and features. The UHD35 and UHD38 have Optoma’s 8-segment RGBWRGBW color wheel that Optoma says will produce “the truest and most accurate colors.”
Optoma states their UHD home entertainment and gaming projectors can reproduce the Rec.709 color gamut, the international HDTV standard, to guarantee precise reproduction of cinematic color exactly as the director intended. The projectors have High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) compatibility, Blu-Ray 3D support, 10W built-in speakers, and dual HDMI 2.0 ports. Lastly, the projector’s light source life is up to 15,000 hours of operation in Dynamic Black mode.
The Optoma UHD35 will be available for purchase through Optoma authorized dealers for an estimated street price of $1,299.
