Optoma has just introduced the UHD55 4K UHD projector. The UHD55 was designed to meet the needs of demanding gaming and Home Entertainment customers. The UHD55 also supports 4K@60p along with both HDR10 and HLG. The lamp-based UHD55 uses a single Texas Instruments (TI) Digital Light Processing (DLP) chipset to deliver a 4K UHD (3840×2160 pixels) displayed resolution.

The UHD55 has a rated brightness of 3,600 lumens of brightness, with an impressive 1,200,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio so content should look great on even the most massive screen day or night.

In addition to the ability to reproduce 97% DCI-P3 color gamut, the UHD55 includes Color Management System and ISF Picture modes which allow you to save calibrated day and night mode settings for the optimum viewing experience.

Many projector enthusiasts still have 3D libraries, the UHD55 supports 3D so you can still enjoy 3D Blu-ray movies and video games on a massive screen. The UHD55 also features two HDMI 2.0 inputs for connectivity to the latest 4K UHD devices, as well as RS-232 connectivity.

For gaming enthusiasts, the Enhanced gaming mode optimizes UHD55 for maximum contrast and vivid colors. It also reduces input lag to just 16ms in 4K@60fps and 4ms in 1080p@240fps, ensuring a responsive and smooth gaming experience.

The response time of the UHD55 in Enhance Game Mode is just 6ms in 4K@60fps and 4ms in 1080p@240fps,

The UHD55's ability to project such a large image allows gamers to get right inside the action with the most immersive Optoma gaming experience, far above the average flat-panel TV. Now split-screen multiplayer games are more enjoyable because they are being played on the big screen.

With the UHD55 it is easy to share content sharing at the touch of a button using Optoma’s Creative Cast app which allows you to wirelessly display images, documents, and videos from up to four devices. Additionally, the UHD55 offers additional smart features including a built-in media player along with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility for seamless integration into smart homes.

Optoma is the number one selling brand of 4K UHD projection in the world and the number one DLP® projection brand worldwide. Optoma says it has reached these milestone numbers in market and customer confidence by continuing its long-standing commitment to delivering the best home entertainment experience. The feature set and specified performance of the Optoma UHD55 projector on paper certainly seem to make it a compelling product.

“We remain committed to meeting the demands for flexible display solutions which have expanded in the home entertainment market during the pandemic. The new Optoma UHD55 combines top-of-the-line features to meet the needs of home entertainment enthusiasts, delivering on image quality, performance and functionality – all at a market-leading price,” said Allen Pestell, Head of Product Marketing, Optoma.

To simplify setup, the UHD55 includes a 1.3X zoom lens with vertical lens shift allowing you to adjust the image for a perfect fit. Should the vertical lens shift and zoom not provide enough image adjustment, the UHD55 offers 3x3 warping, four-corner correction, and keystone correction.

Optoma has even anticipated not having access to a screen and having to project an image on a surface that is not white. With Optoma's "Wall Color" setting, you can alter the projected image based on the color of your wall. With six options to choose from, you can easily adjust for blackboard, light yellow, light green, light blue, pink, or gray walls to get the most accurate color gamut

Additional notable features of the Optoma UHD55 include:

  • Displayed Resolution: 3480 x 2160 True 4K UHD
