Panasonic LB60U and LB60NTU Projector Review - Warranty

Panasonic offers one of the best warranties in the industry. The LB60 series comes with a 3 year parts and labor warranty. To further sweeten the deal, they also offer their overnight loaner program - Zip-it - for all three years of the warranty.

With Zip-it, should your unit break down, you call Panasonic, and they will overnight you a loaner projector. You send your broken projector to them in the box they sent the loaner in. When the loaner is repaired, they ship it back to you, and you then, again, use the provided box, to send back the loaner.

Panasonic (like other companies with loaner or replacement programs) qualifies Zip-it, saying that the loaner unit is "based on availability". Historically, most manufacturers with such programs maintain a sufficiently large fleet of loaners or replacements that availability is not a problem, but it could happen.

However, don't expect to call Panasonic at 5pm Pacific time and have them get a loaner out that day, to you. Panasonic quotes a 1:30PM Central Time cut-off for shipping it the same day. And, of course, they ship only Monday through Friday.

Although not official, I have been aware that Panasonic has in some cases offered customers the option of keeping the loaner unit as a replacement, further saving hassle.

This is about as good a warranty as you can find in the projector industry.
