Press Release ORLANDO, FL | June 12, 2013 |Optoma has introduced 6 new projectors here at InfoComm 2013 incorporating the latest DLP controller chip designs to deliver enhanced features and maximum flexibility for installation in boardrooms, mid-sized conference rooms, and classrooms. The six models, EH501, W501, X501, W401, X401, and EH300 offer best-in-class features and distinguishing characteristics, including full 3D, intended to satisfy the brightness/budget challenge facing installers and buyers today. “This group of projectors represents the true sweet spot for Optoma in terms of both all-around performance and market demand,” said Jon Grodem, senior director of product and marketing “There’s a preference for higher lumen products with broader feature sets because they provide greater flexibility of room size and ambient light, and the new models will satisfy many of these demands.” All three 501-series projectors deliver a brilliant 4500-lumen brightness and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio for remarkably bright presentations, and clear, crisp text and brilliant, rich colors, as well as a best-in-class feature set. The EH501’s native 1080p resolution offers true HD (1920 x 1080), including full 1080p 3D via the HDMI 1.4 port, making it ideal for presentations that include high definition content. The WXGA resolution W501 is made for presentations requiring a true widescreen format, while the X501 meets the needs of those desiring an XGA solution. All three feature a comprehensive I/O panel and the most advanced feature sets in their class. This includes HDMI 1.4 and DVI for digital connectivity, over-the-network presentation capability, direct-from-USB-flash-drive presentation capability, wireless presentation capability via an optional USB dongle, vertical lens shift, and discrete audio inputs including microphone input for maximum installation convenience. The EH501 will carry a street price of $1,699, the W501 a price of $1,599 and the X501 $1,499. All three models will be available at the end of June. For those wanting high brightness at a slightly lower cost, Optoma’s W401 (WXGA) and X401 (XGA) are designed to fit the bill. Both the W401, with 4200 Lumens, and the X401, with 4000 Lumens, provide a robust 15,000:1 contrast ratio to deliver rich, saturated colors and sharp, bright images. Whisper quiet, both projectors offer extensive connectivity options for maximum compatibility. Both are IP and RS-232C control system ready, both incorporate full 3D compatibility, both have a built-in 8-Watt audio system, and both offer superior lamp life to minimize the cost of operation. Available at the end of July, the W401 will have an end-user price of $1099, while the X401 will cost $999. For installations that require 1080p and 3D but are constrained by the budget, Optoma’s new EH300, priced at $1,299, could be the perfect solution. Rated at 3500 lumens, incorporating an on-board, 16-watt stereo speaker system for robust audio, as well as an audio-out for external audio support and RS-232C for LAN integration, the EH300 is a guaranteed to deliver big bang for the buck while delivering any presentation or video with the greatest impact. As with the other models above, the EH300 offers a complete set of connectivity ports, including two HDMI v1.4a, two VGA-in, one VGA-out, a 3D VESA Port, a composite video, two audio-in, one audio-out, an RS-232C, and a USB-B. The EH300 is slated for availability at the end of June. All six projectors carry Optoma’s 3-year Optoma Express Service, 1-year lamp.
