NexiGo used the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to unveil the new NexiGo TriVision Ultra, a smart 4K DLP Laser projector with a built-in sound system. It is part of a growing list of lifestyle projectors. These projectors appeal to consumers who have never considered buying a projector.

Lifestyle projectors, like the NexiGo TriVision Ultra, are designed to be more than just tools for presentations or movie nights; they have evolved into essential elements of modern living spaces, combining high-end technology with style and functionality. The NexiGo TriVision Ultra, with its sleek design and advanced features, is perfectly poised to cater to this new era of home entertainment.

The NexiGo TriVision Ultra can reproduce 4K Ultra HD resolution and has a rated brightness of 2,500 ANSI Lumens. A standout feature of the TriVision Ultra is its Appotronics ALPD 5.0 light source, which combines six light sources (RGB Laser+RGB LED) to enhance brightness and produce a wide color gamut while delivering high color accuracy. ALPD 5.0 technology also reduces speckle and color-fringing problems common with RGB laser light sources.

Due to its ALPD 5.0 light source, the NexiGo TriVision Ultra covers an impressive 110% of the BT.2020 color gamut, with an ΔE of less than 1, ensuring that the colors you see on screen are as true to life as possible.

In addition to HDR10 and HLG, the NexiGo TriVision Ultra supports Dolby Vision. High Dynamic Range, at its core, is about enhancing the visual experience by expanding the range of colors and contrast. This results in images that are more vivid, with brighter whites and deeper blacks. The difference between Dolby Vision and HDR10, the two leading HDR formats, primarily lies in how they handle metadata.

Since projectors can display all the brightness information in HDR content, they utilize tone mapping.

HDR10 provides static metadata, which a display device uses when tone-mapping the entire video. While this could improve the overall picture quality, the projector doesn't have the information it needs to adjust to the varying scenes in a video. For instance, particularly dark and very bright scenes will be treated with the same brightness and contrast curves, sometimes leading to less-than-optimal image quality.

Dolby Vision, on the other hand, employs dynamic metadata. This allows the projector to adjust brightness, contrast, and color settings on a scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame basis. The result is a much more refined and accurate depiction of the filmmaker's vision. Bright highlights can be displayed without negatively impacting overall screen brightness, and details in the dark area remain visible.

The NexiGo TriVision Ultra's support for Dolby Vision means that viewers can experience a level of detail and realism that static metadata HDR formats cannot match. This is especially beneficial in a projector setup, where the nuances of light and dark are critical to creating an immersive viewing experience.

The concept of lifestyle projectors, like the NexiGo TriVision Ultra, is increasingly becoming a focal point in modern homes. These projectors aren't just about displaying content; they are about enhancing the living space, merging technology with lifestyle, and offering a new dimension to home entertainment.

Its ease of setup and use makes it ideal for everyday entertainment - from streaming movies and TV shows to gaming.

Including advanced features like the 2500-lumen ALPD 5.0 light source and Dolby Vision ensures that the SDR and HDR viewing experience is always top-notch. The NexiGo TriVision Ultra marries high-end technical specifications with features and design that complement modern living while delivering a cinematic experience that can be enjoyed every day.
