We reviewed both the LG ProBeam BU60PST and its consumer-focused cousin, the ProBeam GRU510N and we were impressed with both unit's picture quality and feature set.  The ProBeam BU60PST is nearly identical to the ProBeam GRU510N projector, it is just brighter with some minor cosmetic updates. The LG ProBeam models: BU60PST and the LG BF60PST

With 6,000 lumens of output, it is bright enough to be utilized in many business, hospital, museum, and education environments where ambient light is present. In addition, the unit's laser light source is rated for up 20,000 hours allowing years of near maintenance-free operation.

The ProBeam BU60PST offers 1.6x lens zoom along with horizontal and vertical lens shift, which is rare on DLP projectors at this size and price point. Combined with the 12-point warping function, these features reduce image distortion and allow precise alignment with the screen.

While LG ProBeam models do not have all the smart features found in their Cinebeam products, the ProBeam BU60PST does have several notable features that enhance connectivity and productivity. The projector is powered by LG's WebOS with smart features, which can be helpful in business or education applications like Miracast® wireless screen mirroring, Wi-Fi, and a web browser. It even includes a DICOM picture mode. In addition to a USB input, HDBaseT™ compatibility allows a single CAT6 cable to carry 4K signals long distances to the ProBeam BU60PST.

The BU60PST is compatible with HDR10 content, and it is also one of a limited number of projectors capable of Dynamic HDR Tone Mapping. This feature, which was developed for LG's consumer CineBeam projectors, automatically adjusts the projector tone mapping curves based on the scene being played to optimize the unit's HDR performance.

The BU60PST's combination of high brightness, low maintenance, and good picture quality make it a compelling alternative to a large flat panel TV in a conference room, classroom, or any other professional application space.

Overview

The Panasonic PT-FRZ60 is a 6,000-lumen WUXGA installation projector with a laser/phosphor light engine that is rated for 20,000 hours of low maintenance operation. The PT-FRZ60 features a single DLP (0.67” DMD) chip and Panasonic claims the unit can deliver a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000;1.

For enhanced installation flexibility, the PT-FRZ60 is equipped with 2.0x zoom and ample horizontal and vertical lens shift. The PT-FRZ60 is part of Panasonic’s FRZ Series of WUXGA installation laser projectors which also includes the 5200-lumen PT-FRZ50 and the 5000-lumen short throw PT- FRZ55. All three models are housed in a similar chassis (approx. 19-5/8” W × 6-5/8” H 19-3/8” D) and weigh between 35 to 36 pounds each. The two main differentiators between the three models are brightness and lens type.

The PT-FRZ60 has all the connections you would expect to find on a high-end installation projector including dual HDMI as well as a DIGITAL LINK/LAN (HDBaseT) input. While the PT-FRZ60 is a WUXGA projector, it can accept up to 4K@60P content via its HDMI and DIGITAL LINK terminals (HDBaseT) for better integration into systems containing a 4K flat panel display. If the signal is split between the projector and a 4K display, the 4K TV will receive the highest resolution possible.

Like most Panasonic projectors we have reviewed in the past, the PT-FRZ60 produced a bright, accurate looking image. Its great picture, combined with its high build quality and installation flexibility, are the reasons why if you're looking for an installation projector in this price range, PT-FRZ60 should be on your shortlist.

Dynamic mode has good color

Even Dynamic mode - the brightest, as some pretty good looking color! (sorry, image slightly overexposed)

In addition to the pricing, this L6xx series class projector includes a single 10 watt speaker for useable, respectable volume sound.  Quality, of course, is limited.  We're not talking full range, professional sound.   In larger rooms the L610W will need help from the room's own sound system, which virtually every large lecture hall and auditorium already have built in.

Wireless connectivity (Epson's $99 wireless adapter is sold separately)enables increased engagement in your presentation through device sharing and or multiple screens.

Also, you can adjust up to ±50 percent vertical and ±20 percent horizontal manual lens shift in order to aid you with flexible installations.

The PowerLite L610W sits at about 19 pounds and occupies 17.5” x 12”, and it can be ceiling mounted or placed on table top. It includes 2,500,000 : 1 Dynamic contrast ratio. And another feat thanks to Epson’s breakthrough Laser technology, the L610W delivers a light source that will last 20,000 hours virtually maintenance free.

As you’ll soon learn about this projector, the Epson PowerLite L610W Laser Projector delivers high quality performance at a reasonable cost for any large, bright settings needing a powerful projector to display whatever you need, whenever you need it.

Sony's VPL-FHZ65 Laser Projector offers high performance and better value than earlier commercial laser projectors.

Sony is moving into laser "powered" projectors in a big way.  More than a year ago, they introduced the FHZ65's predecessor, the 4000 lumen FHZ55, which we reviewed.  Sony also has a more expensive 7000 lumen model.  In addition to these WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution projectors Sony also introduced a pair of true 4K commercial projectors with laser engines.  I wrote about those 4K Sonys after Infocomm 2015.

The Sony VPL-FHZ65 is a very capable projector, with many advanced features, so let's get started.

CANON REALiS WUX6000 High Res LCOS Projector with DICOM

This "Installation" class projector from Canon is a very high resolution commercial model claiming 6000 lumens of light output.

It comes with a  lot of features for business and commercial applications, including creating very large, high resolution images using multiple projectors.  This model is significantly smaller and lighter than what we like to call "heavy metal" commercial installation projectors.  However, it offers much of the same capabilities but in a relatively compact size, while still having the light output needed for large venue  presentations.  This model could also be suitable for some education applications, such as for use in a large lecture hall where the extra brightness is needed, as compared to the more common 3000 lumen classroom projectors.

The Pro Cinema G6900 projector, with 6000 lumens, when paired with the right screen, should handle virtually any home media setup! This projector is essentially identical to Epson's commercial Powerlite Pro G6900WU.  They may basically the same, but warranty and support differ, favoring the Pro Cinema version, which  costs more, but comes with extra goodies, such as the extra year of warranty and support, and a spare lamp. The POWERLITE PRO G6900WU  is designed to operate in many environments, from traditional office, to sports bars, auditoriums, or even your home "media" room. This review looks at the Powerlite Pro G6900WU as a business projector. A separate review focuses on its almost identical twin, the Pro Cinema G6900WU, sold by the Epson home theater dealer folks, for use in media and living rooms.  This is a very bright projector, one that is loaded with features.A detailed review of this Epson PowerLite Pro Z8000WU NL projector.
