Hisense Reveals the 2023 Lineup of Laser TV and Laser Cinema Products

All Industry News

For years, Hisense has touted a commitment to developing quality products with the latest technology and putting them within the reach of most consumers. In 2023, the brand continues that commitment by making premium home theater projection technology accessible for every budget with two categories of Laser projection products, including the industry's first-ever portable TriChroma Laser Cinema projector and a brand new Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screen technology.

Hisense has been one of the Laser TV category's biggest drivers since introducing its first ultra-short throw Laser TV in 2014. Since then, Hisense has been leading the evolution of Laser display technology and creating a new sustainable future with the low power consumption of Laser displays.

Over the past few years, there has been a lot of talk in the industry about replacing the living room television in consumers' homes, but a lot of that has been just that … talk. For a projector to take the place of a flat-panel television, it needs to be bright enough to stand up to the rigors of the living room environment. I’m talking about projecting a bright and colorful image to overcome often uncontrolled ambient light sources or consumers' desire for lights on viewing. It’s only recently that both projector and screen technologies have been able to deliver a Laser TV product that could meet these and other critical requirements like big sound. Hisense has been at the center of this effort providing some of the best, if not the best, options in the ultra-short-throw category.

In the second half of 2021, Laser TV sales doubled in North America and increased nearly three-fold in 2022. As consumer interest in bigger screens and better quality surges, Hisense is growing its offerings to meet the demand by expanding the 2023 lineup to include six new products within two distinct categories: Laser TV and Laser Cinema.

“Hisense is delivering the latest technologies to our entire lineup, ensuring consumers have premium picture options, at every price point,” said David Gold, President of Hisense USA. “At Hisense, we believe that picture quality matters. That's why we continue to invest in and improve our… Laser technologies. And while we’re dedicated to growing our premium category, we’re not losing sight of providing value to our customers,”.

Hisense plans to do this by offering a total viewing experience with projector systems offering:

  • New high-gain ALR screens that enhance brightness for a sharper picture.
  • Laser TV products with built-in TV tuners
  • Expanded Google TV offerings
  • Providing top-notch audio quality

Projector Reviews has evaluated every single one of the Hisense Laser TV, Laser Cinema, and ALR screen technologies from the award-winning L9G, L5G TriChroma Laser TVs to the PX1 and PX1-PRO Laser Cinema projectors. Check out our reviews by clicking on the links.

HISENSE L9H

It’s not hyperbole to say that last year's L9G set the standard for Laser TV performance. The L9G did this by delivering spot-on color accuracy and providing one of its class's most immersive viewing experiences.

This year Hisense is building on what the L9G delivered with the introduction of its follow-up product, the Hisense L9H. Hisense is bringing the best of the L9G to the L9H, including the TriChroma triple-laser light engine with Dolby Vision to deliver stunning color and contrast and reproduce 107% of the BT.2020 color space. In addition, 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness and HDR10.

Hisense will provide the L9G with massive content upgrades through Google TV and NEXTGEN TV, access to favorite apps, including Netflix, and higher-quality, free Over The Air (OTA) broadcasts. Hisense is upgrading the connectivity of the L9H with the addition of Wifi 6e to ensure consumers stable and reliable streaming, regardless of content demands. Airplay 2 allows for easy casting of content from IOS mobile devices to the screen, and ultra-high speed HDMI ports deliver higher resolution and streaming quality to any connected device.

The L9H will also feature a new, high-gain ALR screen that brings a vibrant, crystal-clear picture in any light conditions, making it the perfect addition to any room. The new ALR screen’s easy image calibration and newly designed frame for a seamless and more intuitive installation process ensure a faster setup than ever. The L9H comes in 100” and 120” screen sizes, making it the perfect choice for a home’s main TV.

HISENSE L5H

Where the L9G set the standard for Laser TV, the Hisense L5G 4K Smart Laser TV provided consumers with a high-quality entry to a big screen experience. The brand-new Hisense L5H will offer consumers an affordable entry point to the Laser TV category. Equipped with a single X-Fusion Blue Laser Light Source and new Dolby Vision support to enhance the viewing experience, the L5H brings a bright picture and immersive experience to any room. Features like FilmMaker mode, a Google TV upgrade, and the addition of Netflix, NEXTGEN TV, and Airplay 2 bring endless content options. With WiFi 6e and ultra high-speed HDMI ports, streaming is optimized for every type of content.

40W speakers combined with Dolby Atmos provide immersive, spatial sound. Auto low latency mode and eARC capabilities deliver an equally impressive home audio experience for the L5H. With a bright picture, content features, the option of a 100” or 120” screen size, and outstanding audio, the L5H is the perfect starting package for those looking to elevate and upgrade their main TV to the big screen.

HISENSE PL1

Hisense’s new PL1 Laser Cinema is a versatile option that puts ultra-short throw technology within reach of more consumers, meeting the growing demand for laser cinema solutions. The PL1 features an auto-focus, adjustable lens capable of projecting an image from 80” to 120” inches allowing for flexibility in screen size and a variety of home theater setups.

A single X-Fusion Laser Light Source, 2100 lumens, and both Blue Laser and Phosphor Color Filter Lasers create a bright, sharp picture with versatility for any new or existing home theater setup. Seemingly endless Google TV content options are projected in 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD). The PL1’s adjustable lens enables consumers to use their preferred screen or project on a suitable surface. With versatile and accessible features, the PL1 is the perfect entry into the Laser Cinema category.

HISENSE PX2-PRO

The PX2-PRO TriChroma Laser Cinemas bring impressive color accuracy, vivid imagery, and versatility. Reaching up to 2400 ANSI lumens peak brightness, and featuring Dolby Vision and HDR10, enhancing that clarity further, PX2-PRO delivers an immersive, unforgettable experience for home theater enthusiasts.

With versatility still top of mind, the PX2-PRO features the popular powered digital lens focus system, enabling razor-sharp images in sizes ranging from 90 to 130-inches diagonal and more options for customization for new or existing home theaters - including flexibility to use an existing screen. With the addition of Google TV, ultra-high-speed HDMI ports, and Airplay 2, PX2-PRO offers an incredible range of content and streaming options. With new upgrades and a best-in-class home theater experience, PX2-PRO is a versatile UST solution at an affordable price.

HISENSE SMART MINI PROJECTOR

The best CE companies always seem to have one more thing, and boy, does Hisense have one more amazing thing. In 2023 Hisense is introducing an entirely new product that makes laser technology accessible in various settings and a new form factor. Hisense calls this the Smart Mini Projector. The Smart Mini Projector offers consumers Hisense’s largest screen size option to date: 150 inches while creating a new, portable category of Laser Cinema.

This powerhouse incorporates the Hisense TriChroma triple laser light engine to deliver a vivid, immersive movie theater experience anywhere you can take it. The Smart Mini Projector’s small size makes it incredibly transportable. Hisense says it’s easy to set up and operate. This projector should produce 4K images with Dolby Vision and HDR10 to enhance the picture. The addition of Dolby Atmos, DTS audio, and JBL speakers create an impressive soundscape.

The Smart Mini Projector also brings Hisense’s world-renowned VIDAA Smart TV OS and its content platform to the 2023 lineup. Available in more than 170 countries and territories, VIDAA is one of the fastest-growing operating systems in the market, with over 1 billion hours of content being streamed every month.

VIDAA offers a unique search system that allows users to easily find content from local and global video streaming applications.  Consumers can access the App store with hundreds of integrated applications and content partnerships, including Netflix, Disney+, FIFA+, and Apple TV. VIDAA’s Smart TV OS and content platform offers more options than ever and continues to place consumers at the center of the experience. With Hisense’s most versatile screen size options, 65 to 150 inches, and only TriChroma portable display, the Smart Mini Projector sounds like an amazing product that I can’t wait to get my hands on!

Hisense kicked off CES2023 with a bang. The company made it clear that they believe their upcoming Laser TV and Laser Cinema products will elevate the consumers viewing experience and be the solutions at the center of the world's living rooms.
