The Samsung LSP9T uses a single-chip 0.66" DLP imager and shifting technology to produce the image seen on the screen. This large sensor provides increased detail and clarity. This Texas Instruments 0.66” DMD chip (2,716 x1,528) reproduces perceived 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution.
Because it's DLP, there should never be any convergence issues like those that could occur with a 3LCD projector. The image that the LSP9T produces should remain sharp throughout the projector's life. Like all other DLP projectors, the LSP9T has a sealed light path to prevent dust particles from settling inside and obstructing the projected image.
The Samsung LSP9T chassis is compact and beautifully designed
The Samsung LSP9T is smaller than other premium Laser TVs and the rounded edges do make the projector appear even more compact. The unit is about 21″ x 5″ x 13 ½″ (LxWxH) and weighs 25 ½ lbs.
The Samsung LSP9T doesn’t have a control panel on the chassis. There is only a power button located on the rear of the unit. All setting adjustments need to be made using the remote.
Because the lens is positioned on top of the chassis, the front of the L9G is very clean. There is just a power light, IR sensor, and a speaker grille that stretches across the entire front. Behind the grille is the multi-speaker system with Acoustic Beam technology.
On top of the projector, chassis are only the lens and eye protection sensors. Air intake/exhaust vents are located on the projector’s rear, left, and right sides. All the inputs and connections are located out of sight on the back of the chassis, facing the screen.
Samsung LSP9T Connections
The projector can also accept signals up to 4K@60P via two 18Gbps HDMI/HDCP 2.2 compatible inputs (HDMI #1&2). The HDMI #1 input also supports Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) which allows the pass-thru of high-bitrate audio to an external sound system. HDMI eARC supports multichannel audio, including Dolby Atmos.
The LSP9T has a single remote that controls the projector and the smart interface. This is another benefit Samsung has brought over from their premium smart televisions. This is a feature I really like because some Laser TVs utilize a smart dongle which requires a second remote.
The built-in microphone built into the remote is compatible with multiple voice control systems including Alexa, Google Assistant, and Bixby.
Since the LSP9T includes the OneRemote feature which automatically detects and controls all compatible, connected devices and content, you operate your entire system via the sleek and slim remote control.
The Samsung Premiere Series projector like the LSP9T does not ship with a screen. This gives the owners the flexibility to choose a screen that best fits their environment. l have a motorized Screen Innovation 100” Solo Pro2 screen equipped with UST (0.8 gain) material already set up in my lab which I for this review.
With a throw ratio of just 0.189:1, the LSP9T can be placed very close to the screen
The LSP9T recommended screen size is between 100" to 130" but as the screen increase so does the throw distance. The lens used in the Samsung LSP9T has a throw ratio of just 0.189:1 so the unit sits closer to the screen than most Laser TVs.

For example, to fill a 100" screen, the LSP9T just needs to be 6 inches away. The benefit is that LSP9T can sit on a shallower cabinet placed be closer to the wall. The projector will protrude less into the room most Laser TVs.
MENUS
The LSP9T uses the same Tizen OS-based menu system found in millions of Samsung smart TVs
The Samsung LSP9T runs the company's Tizen OS, which is pretty much the same OS as Samsung uses on its television products. The menus, picture, sound adjustments, and setup tools are identical, which is great. All the major streaming applications are found on this device, including Netflix.
Overall, I found the menu system on the LSP9T to be intuitive and frankly easy to use. This isn't surprising since Samsung has been in the television business so long and has had plenty of time to get the Tizen content and navigation experience right.

I do have one small bone to pick regarding the OS, and it has nothing to do with features or the intuitive operation of the menu system but instead the speed of the menus. I use several different devices for testing purposes, including an Apple TV 4K and several different Android TV HDMI smart sticks.
I mention this because I found the Tizen OS's speed to be slower, or maybe a better way to describe it is "less smooth," than my external media devices. I mention this here because this projector is a very expensive, premium device, so I expect the UI to offer a speedy premium experience instead of just an average one.
