 In this article, we discuss my impression of CES 2026. Several consumer electronics giants that traditionally dominated the show floor announced they would not have booths. While there were fewer flashy product launches from familiar brands, I did see some interesting technologies that will shape the projection landscape for years to come.

Hisense

Texas Instruments

We visit Texas Instruments to explore the rapid evolution of DLP projection technology and why today’s DLP-based projectors are delivering higher brightness, better contrast, faster refresh rates, and lower latency than ever before.

NexiGo

At CES 2026, Phil Jones visits the NexiGo booth to explore the company’s latest advancements in ultra-short-throw, lifestyle, and gaming-focused projection. Joined by Chris from NexiGo, the discussion centers on the debut of the Aurora Pro MKIII.

Epson

At CES 2026, Kenny from Epson explains the company’s new partnership with MediaTek and Google to add Gemini AI to select Epson projectors. Gemini enables contextual interaction, understanding viewing history, preferences, and follow-up questions to deliver more relevant responses.

XGIMI

Phil Jones visits the XGIMI booth to take a first look at a new projector designed specifically for dedicated home theater enthusiasts called the Titan Noir Max. While the original TITAN emphasized raw light output, the TITAN Noir Max introduces dual irises to significantly improve native contrast, achieving up to 10,000:1. The projector can also deliver up to 5,000 lumens of brightness.

AWOL Vision / Valerion

Valerion also introduces anamorphic lens support, including a custom-designed lens created by a home theater enthusiast with professional optics expertise.  AWOL Vision announced the Aetherion Series laser TVs that offer higher brightness and native contrast. We also examine AWOL Vision’s system solutions, including new Vanish Laser TV systems for the living room and outdoor applications.

JMGO

The centerpiece of JMGO’s CES 2026 lineup is its new flagship projector, the N3 Ultimate, which is scheduled to launch in Q2. The N3 Ultimate is rated at approximately 5,800 ISO lumens and represents JMGO’s most advanced design to date. In addition to higher brightness and improved contrast performance, the projector introduces a combination of optical zoom, horizontal and vertical lens shift, and a motorized, trackable gimbal system.

TCL

Phil Jones visits the projector area of the TCL booth to take a closer look at the company’s latest portable and lifestyle-focused projectors. While TCL continues to showcase cutting-edge television and display technologies, the company has not forgotten about projection, with several compact models designed for casual home entertainment, backyard movie nights, and on-the-go use.

Formovie / Xming

We visit the shared booth of Formovie and Xming to explore how the two brands are approaching projection from complementary yet distinct directions. Joined by Fiona, the discussion breaks down how Formovie focuses primarily on DLP-based home theater projectors, while Xming targets compact, portable LCD projectors designed for younger users and smaller living spaces.

Dangbei

At CES2026, Dangbei was showcasing its newest projector offerings and its continued evolution in design and performance. Joined by Stephen from Dangbei, the discussion focuses on two new models: the Dangbei MP1 Max and the flagship Dangbei S8 Ultra Max.
