Panasonic PT-RZ670BU Projector Review - Warranty

Posted on December 1, 2014 by Jarrod Buckley

The PT-RZ670BU comes with a 3 year part and labor warranty and with a 10,000 hour warranty on the laser light source.

Note:  Since this projector is being promoted for uses requiring continuous 24/7 operation, if it were used for such an application the 10,000 hour warranty on the laser light source would work out to be about 417 days of use.  So if used continuous 365 days a year then the laser warranty would expire in just under 1 year and 2 months while the rest of the projector would be covered by the 3 year warranty.

The projector owner must pay for the transportation cost to get the projector to Panasonic and Panasonic will the pay the return transportation cost.  One, perhaps minor for some potential buyers, negative with the warranty is Panasonic does not provide a rapid exchange program, as do a few other manufacturers for their business projectors.   Overall, this is a better than average warranty and with the long life laser light engine having warranty coverage for 10,000 hours of use, this eliminates the frequency and cost of routine maintenance for lamp replacements.  Also this model eliminates the need for cleaning or replacing air filters as it uses a sealed optical block and no air filter.
