Sanyo PLC-WM5500 Projector - Warranty

The PLC-WM5500 has a three parts and service warranty on the projector and a 90-day (or 500 hours, whichever comes first) warranty on the lamp.  While that’s a good warranty, Sanyo also includes what they call their Quick Repair Program (QRP).
The QRP works as follows:

  • First, the user calls Sanyo toll free at (888) 337-1215 for technical assistance.
  • Once it has been determined by a technician that the projector needs service, a QRP authorization number, as well as instructions on where and how to send the unit, is faxed or e-mailed to the customer.
  • Sanyo will also provide the customer with a Federal Express number so that you can overnight the malfunctioning projector to them at their expense.
  • After the projector is received at Sanyo, they will repair it and return it to the customer in 24-72 hours (typically).

Overall, Sanyo’s warranty and repair service place it right at the top of the competition.
