ViewSonic LS700HD Projector Review – Summary: Highlights, Value Proposition, Pros and Cons


The ViewSonic LS700HD is a 3,500 lumen Full HD (1920 x 1080) DLP laser projector with a rated lamp life of 20,000 hours in Eco Mode. ViewSonic extolls their exceptional picture quality because the laser light engine can reproduce over [Need to Confirm] 90% of the BT.709 color gamut which is the standard for HD video.

By dynamically attenuating the laser power, the LS700HD has a dynamic contrast ratio of [Pending Testing] 3,000,000:1. The LS700HD delivered acceptable picture performance, more so in brightness than color accuracy. This is in line with our past experience with laser DLP projectors.

ViewSonic positions the LS700HD projector’s feature set toward home entertainment but make no mistake, this projector is also flexible enough to be used in business and education environments.

With its laser/phosphor light source that lasts up to 20,000 hours, high contrast ratio, low-maintenance design, and network-management capability, the LS700HD is a good candidate for an affordable home theater projector entry level home theater projector. The LS700HD is well-equipped with useful features for a budget-friendly $1499 retail price.
