Out of the Box Measurements:
Color Temp over IRE Range, Best mode (D65)
The SIM2’s default “best” mode is slightly cool, as you can see. Those numbers should be around 6500K. That was easily fixed by calibration.
SIM2 Nero 3D-2 Projector Calibration and Settings
Color Temp over IRE Range (User mode)
SIM2 Nero 3D-2 Post Calibration Grayscale: User mode
“Best” Mode Brightness: Lumens at 100 IRE: 605@ 6461K
Calibration settings for User mode:
Default gamma of 2.2.
All else on default.
x/y Settings (default values in parenthesis):
x (.314)= .327
y (.325)= .326
Mike’s NOTES: Grayscale calibration affects the full IRE range, but the RGB balance is so consistent across the range that excellent results can be achieved. The color temperature choices and white point adjustments are listed as color management, but there is no true color management available, at least not in the user menus. The Rec. 709 CIE chart shows accurate primary colors, while the secondaries are slightly off.
