There are a number of color profile settings, so I looked at the ones that were used in the best picture modes (see the CIE charts), Video, Standard and THX. THX and Standard are very close, but THX is only available in THX picture mode and cannot be altered. Video is a little bit more saturated and would probably be pleasing to those used to plasma or other flat panel TVs. Red and blue are particularly oversaturated Video, with Cyan and Magenta quite a bit off in hue. With Standard, only a little red oversaturation is noticeable and overall it is very good.
Using the CMS with the Standard color profile, I could get all of the data points almost right on. Delta Luminance (luminance error) was well under 1.0 for the three primaries, as was Delta Hue for the three secondaries.
Likewise, absolute luminance was well balanced for all three primaries, whereas by default, blue was much higher than red or green. By default, cyan and magenta were a bit oversaturated (though hue for all three secondaries was quite good), but that was easily corrected in the CMS.
The final result yields a very good CIE chart.
