Epson PowerLite 725W Education Projector Review - Summary: Summary, Pros, Cons

SUMMARY

The Epson PowerLite 725W provides a native WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. A 3LCD interactive laser display powers the 725W providing well over its manufacturer's claim of 4,000 lumens of brightness. The use of a laser light source provides owners with a virtually maintenance-free 20,000-hour light source life running in Normal mode. A filter on the 725W is rated for an estimated 12,000 hours, based upon the environment's dust and debris. There are no lamps on this projector. The 725W is a reliable, bright, interactive display that supports easy reading, instruction, and communication. The 725W projects up to a 120-inch, 16:10 image and offers up to 95-percent more interactive space than a 75" flat panel.

Quite honestly, with this projector's brightness, you could project a larger image than Epson suggests depending on the content being displayed. But be mindful that you will only be accentuating the already visible screen door effect if you make the image bigger. This effect could be a downside for students or colleagues sitting closer to the screen rather than in the back of the room.

The PowerLite 725W has just about every type of input you could need. The 725W also supports Epson's iProjection software allowing easy device connectivity from Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS devices—up to 50 devices at once! And if that's not enough for you, the 725W offers Wi-Fi connectivity and supports Miracast, which lets you "cast" the screen of any compatible mobile device to the projector.

The PowerLite 725W is an ultra-short-throw (UST) projector designed to be placed within inches of the screen or wall. The advantage of this is that the presenter's shadow on the image is minimized. The projector can be placed on a desk or other surface below the screen or mounted on the wall above the screen, with an optional wall mount.

Since this projector is classified as an education model, a 3-year limited warranty covers it, along with Epson's Road Service Program and dedicated toll-free support. If you register your PowerLite 725W, Epson offers to extend the 3-year limited warranty to a 5-year limited warranty. The Epson Brighter Futures education program makes it easy for schools to put state-of-the-art technology in every classroom, with special pricing programs and benefits that reduce the overall cost of ownership. Epson products qualify for CARES Act funding, making them a smart and affordable choice for hybrid classrooms.

The Epson 725W is an excellent addition to Epson's whiteboard projector offerings. They have built a projector that provides many of their more expensive collaboration tools while reducing performance enough to offer a much more budget-conscious price than their higher-end projectors like the 1485Fi. Considering the effects of the new normal on business and education, the 725W is an affordable and valuable tool for today's world. The Epson PowerLite 725W allows on-site and remote users to collaborate more effectively and safely in today's business and education world.
