Epson Expands Home Cinema Lineup with Three New Affordable 4K 3LCD Laser Projectors

Epson has expanded its Home Cinema projector lineup with three new 4K HDR laser models designed to bring many of the company's core home theater technologies to more accessible price points. The new Home Cinema LS5000, LS6000, and LS7500 combine Epson's 3-chip 3LCD imaging system with a laser light source, 4K pixel shifting, HDR support, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, and refresh rates up to 120Hz.

Pricing starts at $1,999.99 for the LS5000, while the LS6000 carries an MSRP of $2,199.99 and the LS7500 sells for $2,699.99. The lower price points are particularly noteworthy because buyers shopping for a 4K laser home theater projector around $2,000 have mostly been limited to single-chip DLP models. Previously, many of the features found in these models were only found in the Home Cinema LS11000, which is currently $4499.99.

These models are great options for budget-conscious Home Theater enthusiasts who prefer Epson's 3LCD architecture, including viewers who are sensitive to the rainbow artifacts that can be visible with some single-chip DLP projectors.

Epson 4K Pixel Shifting at a Lower Price

As noted, one of the most significant aspects of the new lineup is that Epson is bringing its dual-axis 4K pixel-shifting technology down to a much lower price point. All three models utilize 0.62-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD panels combined with Epson's 4K Display Technology. The system shifts pixels along two-axis to produce a 3840 x 2160 image containing the full 8.29 million pixels associated with a 4K image.

This gives enthusiasts access to Epson's more advanced 4K image reproduction technology starting at just under $2,000. The LS11000 also uses 1920 x 1080 3LCD imaging panels with Epson's pixel-shifting technology to display an 8.29-million-pixel image.

The three new projectors share several other important technologies. They utilize laser diode array light sources rated for up to 20,000 hours and support HDR10 and HLG content with full 10-bit HDR processing. Epson also includes Automatic HDR Scene Correction, which analyzes content and adjusts HDR reproduction to optimize the displayed image.

Designed for Movies and Gaming

Epson has also equipped all three new projectors with features that should appeal to gamers. Dual HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K HDR signals at refresh rates up to 120Hz. Auto Low Latency Mode is included, and Epson claims input lag of less than 20 milliseconds. One HDMI connection also supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) for passing high-quality audio to a compatible AV receiver or sound system.

The new projectors also include Bluetooth 6.0 which allows two-channel audio from HDMI sources to be streamed directly to compatible wireless headphones. The compact chassis also uses front-exiting airflow, which can simplify installation on shelves or in locations where ventilation space behind the projector is limited.

Home Cinema LS5000

At $1,999.99, the LS5000 serves as the entry point into the new lineup. Its 3LCD engine is rated to deliver 2,500 lumens of both IDMS color brightness and ISO white brightness, matching the rated brightness of the more expensive LS11000. Epson specifies a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 800,000:1.

The LS5000 uses a multi-element Epson Cinema Lens with a 1.32 to 2.15:1 throw ratio and 1.62x manual optical zoom. Manual lens shift provides ±59 percent vertical and ±21 percent horizontal adjustment, offering considerably more installation flexibility than many projectors in this price range.

Home Cinema LS6000

Moving up to the LS6000 ($2199.99 MSRP) brings a substantial increase in light output. The LS6000 is rated at 3,400 lumens of both color and white brightness, 900 lumens more than the LS5000, while retaining the same dynamic contrast rating of 800,000:1.

The LS6000 utilizes the same 1.32 to 2.15:1 throw ratio, 1.62x manual zoom, and ±59 percent vertical and ±21 percent horizontal manual lens shift as the LS5000. For only $200 more than the LS5000, the additional brightness should be useful with larger screens, HDR content, or installations where some ambient light is present.

Home Cinema LS7500

The LS7500 ($2699.99 MSRP) offers a slightly higher brightness rating of 3,500 lumens and a higher dynamic contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1. The LS7500 retains the same ±59 percent vertical and ±21 percent horizontal manual lens shift found on the other two models.

Additionally, the LS7500 is equipped with a Short Throw Epson Cinema Lens with a 1.0 to 1.31:1 throw ratio. This allows the projector to be positioned closer to the screen than a conventional standard-throw projector. The LS7500 also adds RS-232C control and a 12-volt trigger, making it better suited to more elaborate dedicated home theater installations.

While the new projectors deliver excellent performance at lower prices, the more expensive LS11000 has a more sophisticated powered 2.1x lens with powered focus, powered lens shift, and ten lens-memory positions. Those capabilities are especially valuable for dedicated theaters using constant-image-height screens or installations that frequently switch between aspect ratios.

All three projectors will be available in late September 2026 through the Epson Online Store and select retailers. Each includes a two-year limited warranty with full-unit replacement and free technical support.

Together, the three models significantly lower the cost of entry into Epson's 4K LS-series ecosystem.
