The Home Cinema 5020 UB projector, and also the 5020e come with a two year parts and labor warranty. In this price range that's about average in length. There are a couple of one year warranties out there in the HC5020's price range, but this year we're seeing more three year warranties, including Sony's VPL-HW50ES, and Viewsonic's new Pro 9000 with its long life LED/laser light source, and the new Sharp XV-Z30000.
Both Epson models also come with a replacement program for both years of the warranty. (The Pro Cinema 6020 comes with three/three.) A couple of other companies in the price range offer a one year replacement or loaner program along with a three year warranty, but to my knowledge, only that Epson 6020 UB has three years of replacement. Most home theater projectors have no replacement program.
Epson has always offered a combination of great warranty and support. If you have a warranty repair, Epson will expedite you a replacement projector out of their fleet. Details: They will pay the freight to you, and pay the shipping for you to ship your broken one back. They will put a hold on a credit card, to make sure they get a projector back. That's pretty SOP (standard operating procedure) in the industry (the credit card - replacement programs are rare in home theater).
Depending on the time of day you call, your replacement projector might actually arrive the next business day, or the following. You can't beat that.
Epson provides owners with a hotline number. Calls go directly to the tech support folks, typically in under 2 minutes. When I owned Presenting Solutions and was a large online dealer, we always considered Epson's support to be excellent. Nothing I've heard since, would indicate otherwise.
Bottom line, the HC5020 UB and HC5020e have very good warranties, not the longest, but their replacement program adds additional value.
