Mitsubishi HC5500 Home Theater Projector: Warranty

Posted on August 9, 2008 by Art Feierman

Mitsubishi's warranty on the HC5500 (link to specs) is about average - 2 years parts and labor. Of the lower cost projectors, it is better than some, for example, the Panasonic PT-AE2000U and BenQ W5000 have a one year warranty standard, while the Epson Home Cinema 1080 UB has two years parts and labor, but with an overnight replacement both years. Most Optoma projectors have a standard two year warranty, like the Mitsubishi, and the Sanyo PLV-Z2000 offers three years.

I consider two years to be an acceptable warranty, I recommend extended warranties for those projectors with only one year.
