Viewsonic Launches Two New Lamp-Free Installation Projectors

By Jarrod Buckley
Viewsonic Corp, has announced two new lamp-free projectors as part of their LS series lineup of business projectors. The LS831WU ultra-short throw laser and LS600W LED projectors were introduced in June and are intended for installation and digital signage applications. They use either LED or Laser light engines to provide high brightness, amazing colors, and up to 30,000+ hours of low maintenance operation. According to Mia Shen, Sr. Business line manager of projectors at Viewsonic, “[we] developed these new projectors with the latest solid-state technologies to offer our partners more lamp-free projection choices. We used the latest generation of laser and LED technologies to maximize the brightness levels, enhance colors and enhance installation options”
Both models can be monitored, scheduled, and managed remotely with the integrated Crestron e-Control system and RoomView express management software. Crestron and AMX certifications allow them to be controlled and overseen across any size campus or enterprise. Crestron RoomView is a real-time, multi-user, help desk software that allows administrators and support staff to manage AV resources, perform remote system diagnostics, track the usage of projector lamps, log network activity, and automate tasks through event scheduling. RoomView Express extends the power and simplicity of RoomView to large professional and educational facilities, supporting hundreds of rooms and unlimited users.

ViewSonic LS831WU

Lets start with The Viewsonic LS831WU which is an ultra-short throw laser projector designed with discreet, unobtrusive digital signage applications in mind. The LS831WU has WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution, a dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 and a rated brightness 4,500 ANSI lumens. The LS831WU is available now and has a MSRP of $4,599. It utilizes second generation laser technology, a sealed optical engine, and a laser phosphor light source for 20,000 hours of virtually maintenance-free usage for a lower overall total cost of ownership. The 0.25 ultra-short throw lens allows projection of huge, immersive images in small spaces which is perfect for rooms where space is limited. 360-degree placement configuration allows flexibility of installation and massive, crystal clear images from just a few feet from the projection surface. Thanks to its integrated HDBaseT input, you can receive HD video and audio from source a significant distance away via a single CAT6 network cable.

ViewSonic LS600W

With native WXGA (1280x800) resolution, and 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, the LS600W is an LED projector which delivers supreme balance between brightness and vivid color via an upgraded RGB light source utilizing second generation LED technology. This results in a 30% increase in brightness, compared to the first gen. technology, while still delivering up to 30,000 hours of nearly maintenance free operation. The LS600W can also deliver 125% Rec.709 for accurate, vivid color. Powered by an IP5X sealed optical engine, the LS600W was engineered for 24/7 continuous operation in potentially high humidity or dusty environments. The LS600W is equipped with a 1.2x zoom lens for enhanced placement flexibility and is capable of 360 degree tilt angle projection, and H/V keystone correction. The LS600W is available in Q3 2020 with an estimated street price of $799.
