Vivitek Improves AV Control for Meeting Moderators

All Industry News
by Philip Boyle

Vivitek has released a new optional add-on upgrade that brings better in-room AV control to Novo Ecosystem meeting moderators.

Vivitek, a leading provider of visual presentation and collaboration solutions, has added support for the emerging Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) trend to its Novo Ecosystem solutions like the products they introduced in 2020, the Vivitek NC-X700 and NC-X900 collaboration solutions. These devices were brought to market just as the pandemic was spreading and are a cost-effective and straightforward way to share ideas and content wirelessly on a large display. These two devices also extend the value from new or existing displays with digital signage.

Now, in 2022, Vivitek is announcing a new and powerful BYOM upgrade that provides users of Vivitek's most popular wireless collaboration solutions an upgrade to control mainstream meeting peripherals such as cameras and audio devices from the convenience of the meeting moderator's own laptop. To demonstrate the benefits of BYOM, Vivitek is currently offering users of the compatible NC-X700, NC-X900, NovoDisplay and NovoTouch devices 30-day free trials.

Vivitek was the first brand to introduce an ecosystem of fully compatible/complementary Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) wireless collaboration, visual displays, and digital signage solutions with the Novo range of solutions. The four product categories - Add-On Devices, All-in-One Solutions, Launcher, and Software/Cloud applications - provide safe new ways to securely communicate ideas on-site, remotely, or via hybrid scenarios.

Wireless collaboration brings multiple benefits to organizations of all sizes. These days, there is a high likelihood that people already carry personal devices like smartphones and computers. This growing trend has led to more BYOD corporate policies and programs. Some organizations allow their employees to choose between BYOD or supplied devices. BYOD provides teams with quick and simple meeting or lesson setups. Thanks to WiFi connectivity, meeting attendees can easily connect their devices and show their content on a compatible, connected display. Vivitek's solution supports Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), so it can cater to multiple devices. This encourages collaboration between meeting and lesson participants while still adhering to social distancing guidelines.

In addition to displaying content wirelessly from users' devices, the selected Vivitek compatible NovoConnect and NovoDisplay devices transform seamlessly to digital signage devices which maximizes the use of the display.

The new, optional BYOM upgrade feature can now be performed on selected Novo devices. This upgrade enables the meeting moderator to wirelessly control the shared A/V devices (including USB-connected In-Room peripherals, ranging from hardware such as cameras, microphones, and speakers). This feature also supports Video Conferencing applications, making it ideal for both corporate and educational needs for on-site and hybrid meetings.

The BYOM driver is available for the following Novo devices:

NC-X700 and NC-X900: Novo Connect wireless collaboration add-on devices are ideal for users who already have a screen or projector. These users may wish to enhance or extend their existing AV infrastructure with wireless presentation functionality or maximize their screen use with digital signage.

Vivitek's all-in-one collaborative panels, NovoTouch and NovoDisplay, are compatible with the BYOM functionality. NovoTouch is the ultimate All-in-One Touch Panel that combines 4K UHD resolution, Wireless Collaboration, Video Conferencing, Digital Whiteboard, and Digital Signage. NovoDisplay offers similar features as a non-interactive display.

Commenting on the added BYOM functionality, Holger Graeff, General Manager, Vivitek EMEA, said:

"NovoConnect stands for easy, secure wireless collaboration for all meeting participants. With the introduction of the BYOM upgrade, Vivitek ensures that the meeting moderator now has even more control. Once again, Vivitek is ahead of the market with its Novo Ecosystem, enabling any user to easily collaborate, communicate and now control the visual communication in any meeting space."

A License key is available for a one-time charge of of $220 US Dollars or EURO 199 (excl. VAT) to upgrade the selected Vivitek solutions to BYOM. Customers who want to take advantage of the free 30-day trial can download Vivitek's BYOM driver from: https://www.launchnovo.com/index/dsa.
