JVC DLA-RS2 and HD-100 Projector Warranty

Posted on December 25, 2007 by Art Feierman

JVC provides a standard 2 years parts and labor warranty. That's pretty much industry average, although a couple offer more. Comparing the 1080p projectors, Epson offers 3 years with an overnight replacement warranty for all three years on their Pro series, and 2 with replacement on the Home series. BenQ, on their top of the line W10000, offers three years with 1 year of replacement. Sanyo offers three years parts and labor on their PLV-Z2000. After that, though it seems to all be two years, including Mitsubishi, Optoma, InFocus, and Sony projectors. Panasonic is the "short straw" offering only a single year parts and labor.

Since the RS2 is going to be long term "keeper" for most home theater buyers, you might want to consider a 3rd party extended warranty, for a few more years. Those are rather reasonably priced, although they tend to be more hassle (if you need to use it) than manufacturers warranties.
