JVC DLA-X70R Warranty

Posted on March 27, 2012 by Art Feierman

In the US, the JVC DLA-X70R comes with a two year parts and labor warranty (3 years in Canada it seems).

I wish I could say "three years" here too, which is what we like to expect of projectors over $5000! Sadly, it just doesn't play out that way. Of the projectors we consider in the $3500+ range, 2 years is the most common, but there definitely few with three years. Replacement warranties are rare, and as no surprise JVC does not, nor have they to my knowledge, ever offered a replacement program for their home projectors.

As I see it, the toughest competition around right now for the JVC DLA-X70R is the Sony VPL-VW95ES, which does come with a 3 year warranty.

JVC has always seemed to provide very good build quality, and so far, JVC models have had a very good reputation for reliability. In the 4+ years I've owned JVC's, My own original RS1 and current RS20 have performed without a single issue, with total usage above 5500 hours (combined).

This is the first time we've reviewed a JVC from the Consumer Group. I've got no experience with their phone support or service, but I should also note, that I haven't gotten complaints from readers, either. (I do for some brands and models of projectors).

All considered, JVC is providing a typical one for the price point. There are better ones though, if a longer warranty is important to you.
